Second Chance Dog Rescue
Ginger
Ginger is a 1 year old puggle (pug/beagle) that came to us from a rural shelter where she was given up because someone in the family had a baby and he/she was allergic to her. Ginger is a very playful dog who loves attention. Ginger has been spayed and is up to date on her shots. Ms Ginger does have a cherry eye however it does not seem to effect her at this time. Ginger gets along great with most dogs that are her size or larger. We do not believe she would do well with cats only because she loves to play and may hurt a cat because she is so playful.
News
We have had several of our dogs find their permanent home recently. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing about their new homes. While we are a small organization and do not have the resources to save several dogs each week, we do believe that we can do our part by saving one dog at a time. Our list of adopted dogs that have found a permanent loving family keeps growing. Thank you for finding the love in your heart to help our loving animals.
NEWS FLASH:
Many of you might remember Momma. A wonderful Lab rescued in January 2005. Momma gave birth to 10 puppies who because she had been so sick were unable to survive. Momma was adopted to a wonderful family and has gone on to enjoy the finer things in life in the country. Her new Mom and Dad just love her. Momma now called "Jelly" is working to become a therapy dog and now enjoys going to the local Retirement Home. Way to go!
Who We Are
Second Chance Dog Rescue mission is to give dogs that have found themselves homeless a second chance at finding a loving forever home. The founders take care of everything involved in the rescue of dogs including but not limited to: the initial intake of a dog, grooming, feeding, training, vet visits, home checks and all the administrative functions. Second Chance Rescue prefers to take dogs that are at the local shelters and have a greater chance of being euthanized. WE HOWEVER WILL CONSIDER YOUR SMALL DOG. WE REQUIRE THAT YOUR DOG BE CURRENT ON ALL SHOTS AND BE EITHER SPAYED OR NEUTERED AND HEARTWORM NEGATIVE. WE WILL ALSO ASK FOR A DONATION TO COVER THE COST OF THE DOG'S FOOD AND HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVE UNTIL HE/SHE IS ADOPTED. Second Chance Rescue survives solely on adoption fees, surrender fees and any donations it is lucky enough to receive. Second Chance Rescue IS NOT A SHELTER, therefore, we would ask that you respect us and the animals that we rescue by not calling after 8:00 PM.
Adopting a friend
Please contact us and we will be happy to set up an appointment for you to meet a dog. Adoption fees are as follows: $250.00 unless otherwise specified . THIS COVERS ALL SHOTS AND NEUTER/SPAY. ALL DOGS ADOPTED ARE HEARTWORM NEGATIVE UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED AT TIME OF APPLICATION. Please be aware that since we are a very small organization, we take pride in matching you with a lifetime companion. Most of the dogs have come into rescue very sick and scared so we make every effort to make your house, our rescues "last stop". Therefore, we would like the chance to get to know you and to give you the opportunity to get to know the companion you are considering adopting.
